Norbital

Norbital in action

Norbital is the brand new circular cycle route around Northampton. The word itself is a portmanteau, a word made up of two others; in this case, Northampton and Orbital.

The idea is to connect together by bike a large number of residential areas with areas of employment and education around the periphery of the town, such as the University, Brackmills and Moulton Park.

The route also crosses other on and off-road cycle routes that you can use in combination with Norbital to easily get into the town centre by bike.

The Norbital route is predominantly on dedicated cycle tracks separated from traffic, with just a few short sections that use quiet residential streets. 100% of the route is on a paved tarmac surface and 90% of the route is lit to a high standard so is useable all year round.
