Northampton Twestival

On Friday 24th March, the Fishmarket turns into a Twurlitzer - a live jukebox to raise money for CAN

Northampton is hosting its own Twestival Local event on 24 March when the Fishmarket is being turned into a Live Jukebox, with live bands, DJs and other performers! When presenting your ticket on arrival, you will receive 5 tokens so you can vote for your favourite songs by the acts. The most popular song will be played!

What's a Twestival?

Twestival® (or Twitter Festival) uses social media for social good by connecting communities off-line for a single day to highlight a great cause and have a fun event. Twestival is the largest global grass roots social media fundraising initiative to date. Since 2009, volunteers have raised close to $1.2 million for 137 non-profit organisations. All local events are organized by volunteers and 100% of all ticket sales and donations go direct to local projects and charities.

Twestival was born out of the idea that if cities were able to collaborate on an international scale, but work on a local level, there could be a spectacular impact! Over 200 international cities from Buenos Aires to Bangalore, Seattle to Seoul and Hong Kong to Honolulu have participated in Twestival.

Twestival Local 2011 is a great opportunity to bring the community together. All money raised on the day will go directly to a local charity and be spent in Northamptonshire. This year we are delighted to be rasing money and awareness for CAN, who provide nationally recognised and award winning services to people of all ages and backgrounds, to address the devastating problems of drug and alcohol dependency and homelessness.

The event will take place in the Fishmarket, Bradshaw Street, Northampton NN1 2HL. For tickets, further details, or to get involved in any way, please click the link below.
