12 - 2 Health for YOU!

Northamptonshire County Council is supporting 12-2 Health for you (4th to 9th October) with activities suitable for a lunch hour planned at the Central Library in Northampton.

NHS health trainers will be on hand in the Central Library throughout the week. Health trainers work within communities to motivate people to develop a healthier behaviour and lifestyle and will be available to discuss anything from stopping smoking to increasing physical activity from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Free health checks are available using the Wellpoint Health Kiosk, a non invasive method of measuring six vital signs of health including weight, heart rate, blood pressure and body fat content.

During the week there will also be health walks for people of all abilities and the opportunity to have ago on a Wii Fit. Food from Northamptonshire Food and Drink awards finalists will also be available to sample along with Indian head massage’, Tai Chi and a seated exercise programme.

Health week runs from the 4th to 9th October at Northamptonshire Central Library. Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
